The Hidden Cost of Judgment (and How You Can Set Yourself Free)

Individual in stillness, representing the power of living without self-judgment

After midday I noticed today I’ve been doing everything one thing at a time. You know how these days you go for a walk and listen to the podcast or music at the same time? In my case, I leave one ear open for the ocean sounds lol, do the deep breathing, or at home you bake a cake, do laundry, listen to the music, read your incoming emails, post on socials, clean your house, and talk to your mum. I understand that your list is completely different, but you’ll get the point.

And then I noticed this deep sense of peace within me and realised that I’ve been doing things differently today, one task at a time, not in order at all, and I haven’t really been sleeping the last couple of weeks, and yet I’m still smiling after yesterday’s bars session, which I travelled 2h for, and it was all so worth it, obviously.

After that last post, I ‘heard’ a question: how can I be happy with my past if it wasn’t happy? It’s in the question; IT wasn’t happy, but you can still be happy today.

What is happy? Overused word, but in the absence of anything better, that’s what we say, although if I think about it, in my birth country, people rarely say the word; the best they say is I’m content/ok. Oh, Happy feels so much more vital. OMG, thank you for that.

Happiness is something outside of us; for example, sunshine makes us happy, music makes us happy, and someone makes us happy…it’s all outsourced, but still important though. No need to underestimate the environment you’re in; I would’ve been dead if I didn’t move. That’s how critical it can be.

Ultimately, we’re aiming to have joy, as that’s within and independent of anything outside of us. It can’t be taken away, and you can’t lose it. It’s where your inner being is living. You know you have it in you, but whether you can access it is another story.

Back to the happy vs. unhappy, it’s a kind of judgement, you see. Bad and good, beautiful & ugly. Polarity. Anything that is part of polarity is half the truth. Therefore, if you give up judgement about what was or what happened, you’ll get free from it. You do not actually have a need to make your past right or wrong. It is what it is, it’s in the past.

Perhaps start from practicing no judgement, where you have no need to make everything right or wrong. If you have practiced it long enough, you’ll notice new amazing things starting to emerge into your life. What should you say or think instead of that judgement? Access tool is ‘interesting point of view I have this point of view’ google it or YouTube it for the full explanation. Say it every time you want to judge anything, and see how your world lightens up.

Of course, there are ‘good’ and ‘bad’ judgements; ultimately you want to lose both. A good judgement keeps you trapped as well because you have already decided it’s ‘good’ as if there wasn’t anything greater possible, but there always is. Read that again; do not skip it. I always assume somehow that you know all that, as Access has talked about it all, but perhaps I shouldn’t, but pardon me if I am repeating what you already know.

You do not even realise how heavy is the burden of judgement and how much lighter is life without it and how many more opportunities in life will open up once you loosen up. A Bars session does that for you; that’s why you’ll feel so much lighter after that. You’re free of loads of judgement, and you’ll see the world like it’s brightened up, or like you’d see it for the first time, like there’s so many opportunities that you didn’t see before.

For instance, you have a desire or dream, but your judgement that it’s too hard or too risky or too much change keeps you away from it. That’s why I always say, there’s always something else possible, something you haven’t even considered, realised, or thought of in a million years. You’ll get to experience that once you lose judgements…your impossibilities start to become possible because the only thing kept you from your dream was your own judgement(s).

What are you holding on to here that if you didn’t would change everything?

What is the judgement good or bad you still holding on to that if you didn’t would change your life immediately?

How much energy could you use for creating instead of judging?

What would it be like if you had no judgments of yourself or anyone or anything? Can you go there for a moment and see how your whole nervous system calms down? Can you imagine living life from that space?
It’s spacey — don’t be unsettled by it — because in that space is quiet… and your joy, inspiration, creation, and your truth.

I am going to post weekly/daily perspectives here, starting now. Although, I feel temptation to go to explanation very often, I’ll try not to but allow that too. There was some gold that ‘Murderbot’ said in the last episode but I can’t remember atm. 🙂

A song: I went to see these guys in Europe; it wasn’t great. Perhaps they were tired, or maybe they are a studio band, like some are. Or it wasn’t a good day…or or or. How good is that song, though! Aloneness in it, with loneliness attached to it. I know you lost me here…Cool!  Edit: 22.07.25 do you know that I just realised I mixed that band up with one other…🤭 so sorry! Can you guess who I mixed them up with?
