Photo: Hello new day! Sunday’s coffee run that turned into a half a day spent cruising in greenery. The horse gave me therapy I didn’t know I needed. He acted like a nature’s hug.
Creative Tension: What Is Your Life Asking You to Create?
Creating Your Life Differently
Creating your life being happy, is not some kind of specific talent; it’s the greatest talent you already have. You only need to quit listening to others and believing their judgements.
I heard someone talking about all creation being something that comes from the shadow side, and there’s truth in it. Although, I am asking, what could be created from the light? The shadow side could be the uncomfortable situation you’ve put yourself in; it could be an unexpected change in life situation, heartbreak, or a health issue that makes you choose differently.
What Have You Considered “Normal”?
Firstly, what you consider ‘normal’ that isn’t? (Even if you’re related to them).
Dain Heer has been talking about it forever, and Charlie mentioned it in his call yesterday and reminded me of a thing I really have given zero thought to, the kind of behaviour, something you see on TV here and not in real life, or I’m just choosing differently here. I remembered birthdays and social events where I often happened to be in the same room with someone who used to pick one or two people from the crowd that she had made believe she was the best friends with and then start to mock them in front of everyone. Sharing something personal they had shared with her. We’re not talking about teenagers but grownups. She was the kind who could talk people into anything, and that’s what she used it for. That’s not the tip of the iceberg, but that’s that. There is actually a medical term for that, and holistically, by Viilma, that behaviour is one step away from becoming a criminal.
When Being “Different” Becomes Something Else
What I got: she used to yell from the other side of the room: Reena, what does Viilma say about it? (To point out what old people’s or weird stuff I was doing – reading holistic health books, it wasn’t “in” :)). Somehow, I was unconcerned with it, perhaps because it wasn’t a lie; I guess there wasn’t anything worse to say about me. It didn’t go as ‘smoothly’ for others.
But mostly what surprises me now is that this awful behaviour was written off to something like, ‘Oh, she is like that,’ or got ignored. No one called her out for that, including me, although there were fewer and fewer people showing up for her, as you can imagine. I’d say I remember that, and so do others. Funny enough, she had bought the book while I was away in the States and was then hiding it from me.
Notice What You Allow
Notice what you consider ‘normal’ that isn’t, even if you’re related to them. We tend to give a lot longer rope to these as if almost it was a responsibility to accept. People that make you wrong have no place in your life. Make a difference here; there is well-meant, sometimes harsh feedback, and then there’s a malicious act.
The environment you’re in has a great impact on your health, not to mention your life, proved – please do not test it on yourself! 🙂
What If Your “Wrongness” Is Your Strongness?
I just remembered D. Heer’s question: What if your ‘wrongness’ is your strongness? What have you been made wrong for that is actually needed in this world? I have been reflecting on my perspectives in international magazines while….???
When Life Makes You Choose Differently
See, you weren’t willing to choose differently from the comfort zone; therefore, life provided the uncomfortable.
You might find yourself in a situation where you do not know how to move on, move on from the past, past pain or the past generally; that’s where creativity kicks in if you’re still & quiet for a moment and/or Alone. Your forced circumstance made you create something or choose different. That’s creative tension.
Creative Tension
Creative tension grows out of the pure intention. Intention that has no bias, backstory, no ego-based motivation it just is.
It feels inherent to you. You feel the urge to change, to move on to choose different.
Creative tension is you’re going to go, and …there’s no other thoughts, no distractors.
What Has Your Discomfort Created?
Have you had a time where you thought if that crap hadn’t happened to me, I would’ve never made changes necessary to get to where I wanted or was meant to get? All that unsupportive environment and people pushed you to the right direction.
If you stopped playing it safe, what would it create? Has anything been created out of comfort, security, certainty or safety? Not much, but what would it take to change that? What if we’re ready to create without the uncomfortable now?
Everywhere you’ve been holding on to comfort that is stagnation, will you let it go now to create greater?
Where Are You Choosing Safety Over Creation?
Where in your life are you clinging to safety that is stopping you from creating what you truly desire? Where in your life you’re providing the illusion of stability while quietly preventing the growth that your life is asking for?
What are the things that are merely familiar deserve to be examined and possibly released?
‘What if much of what we cling to is not the reality of a thing but the memory of how it used to be?’ (D.Heer).
You Are “Cooking” Something New
If you are in an challenging circumstances uncomfortable / life situation now, then know that you’re ‘cooking’ something new for yourself; it’s creative tension, the ‘do not know’ phase. What you do know is that change is imminent, and that’s the start.
Do not resist it, allow it. Get exited!
The Bigger Question
That one below is big, it illustrates the whole idea of me choosing big changes in life.
The most important isn’t the next job you’re going to choose but how you’re going to spend your life.
Or if you will: What if the next chapter isn’t about your next job but about how you you’re going to spend your life?
Are you coming?
Big hugs

A Note About Learning Traditional Culture & Language in Australia
After finishing uni in Darwin, NT, I took a short course in Yolŋu Languages & Culture to learn about the land, language and its owners out of respect for this land and people. I’ve always had enormous gratitude for the place because it cured me from many health conditions. The photo of the home page is also inspired by that gratitude. That goes deeper than anything happening with the country or politics in the surface level.
As I learned, some traditional local languages don’t have direct equivalents for expressions such as “please” or “thank you.” In Yolŋu Matha, Ga’ can be used as an everyday expression when acknowledging receiving something.
