Sometimes it feels like a higher power comes to make things not happen…knowing that makes it somehow fine.
I had a surreal experience at the hair salon the other day—I went through a mini death. I had an unexpected reaction to the toner they used, which is surprising because the same brand has been used on my hair for 13 years, even back in Europe, without any issues.
It might have been the recalibration, as I’ve been asking big changes, and I have questions that still confuse me.
I was remarkably clear-headed as I felt my body shutting down, piece by piece. Lying back with the toner in my hair at the sink, I opened my eyes—but most of my vision was black. I couldn’t see.
I tried to stand up, but I had no balance. My face felt frozen, my breathing was unsteady, and it was hard to talk. For about an hour, it felt as if an electric shock was coursing through my entire body.
It was scary, but I wasn’t really scared; I was just thinking, ’That was a short one (life). ‘ There’s still so much I wanted to do and so many people I wanted to meet.”
It didn’t make any sense, other than I had been at home with a cold a week before, and perhaps my immune system was a bit weakened. The ambulance arrived, and the paramedics confirmed it was likely an allergic reaction, Anaphylactic Shock because of the toner chemicals. They checked my vitals and said everything looked beautiful. I smiled and replied, “As it should be.” They asked if I needed to go to the hospital. I was too weak to walk, so after a couple of hours, I was taken home.
Allergy of any kind including acne represents a protest, head is a future, face illusions etc. I have something to think about.
I cut my hair off as I felt I gave too much power to them. To prove myself I can do without them. FYI not a good reason to do that but I have to live with it for a couple of months or so, and in a way reinvent myself. Challenge accepted.
I was a bit nervous about my hair appointment on that day, as was conquering my childhood trauma with it. I haven’t really cut my hair off ever voluntarily only once, the first trip to Australia where my long hair got completely ruined by most likely English backpacker/hair dresser. Then I seriously considered going Britney. It was bad. After that I never chose anything less for my hair than the best I’m able to offer.
In childhood when I was 2-5years old we had a scandal every time when my parents were taking me to the hairdresser as I wanted a long hair, because girls have long hair, right! They didn’t want to take care of a little person’s hair so in direct translation I had a ‘a boy cut’ what an awful name! I am a girl so why would I have a boy cut?!? (Obviously it was a 5 year old’s perspective) 🙂 I cried rivers and protested every time, still makes me shrink inward to think back.
However, I was happy to have a reason to be in the city at my favourite coffee place and get worries off my shoulders (cutting hair off). I decided to give them a holiday for the summer.
I was going to get rid off the old that they remember to make room for a new vital, new memories and energies.
Like A.Hicks always says if you have what you do not want that’s the way to find out what you do want. 🙂
Hair dresser asked if I like my new hair, and I looked in the mirror and said ‘I haven’t decided yet’ she said it’s the most honest answer she’s ever heard.:) The choice isn’t really reversible so…it is what it is.lol
A little that I knew what was waiting for me on that day, that mini death was eye opening, reminder how fragile is life.
There might not be another time to do anything so do it today!💚💚💚
